The Pacific is mainly based on two memoirs of Marines in the war, who were fighting the Japanese in the Pacific Theater of Operations — the first points in the Pacific ocean where the U.S. mounted an offensive attack on the Axis in 1942. The series will use the same 10-part format that Band used, and it totes an unbelievable $150 Million price tag. Band of Brothers cost $125 Million to make, and that was the most expensive TV show per episode of any other in the history of shows, so prepare Pacific to take that crown. Luckily for us, this means that once again, we will get only the most realistic and high-quality production we could ask for as fans of the war genre.
The Pacific is expected to begin in March of 2010. |
